Climbing frame at brewery tap beer garden

A garden they won't want to leave

The star of the show is the climbing frame. A wooden fort with a slide, climbing wall, nets and a covered lookout, standing on soft bark chippings.

There are swings, with toddler seats for the smallest ones, and a white wooden wagon playhouse to commandeer. The whole garden is enclosed, sealed off from the car park and the outside world, so they can roam between the play area and your table while you watch from your seat with something cold.

The Brewery Tap Shaded Sail Area

If the sun's too strong, the sail canopy shades a whole run of tables, with festoon lights strung beneath it for when the afternoon stretches on.

And when the weather turns cooler, the garden's dining domes come into their own - bookable for lunch, or a warm dry spot to sit with a drink and watch the kids on the climbing frame.

Inside, for the wet Sundays

This is Britain. We have plan B.

Inside there's a box of toys in the lounge to keep small people busy while you finish your lunch by the log burner in peace. High chairs are ready if you need one, and there are baby changing facilities in the ladies'.

Food they'll actually eat

The kids' menu keeps it simple, and everything on it is £10.

A homemade beef burger with cheese and fries, mini fish with fries and peas, or penne pasta with tomato sauce, parmesan and fresh basil.

Smaller appetites on the main menu can be catered for too, just ask when you order.

Dog drinking at the Brewery Tap

Bring the whole family, dogs are always welcome here.

.

There are water bowls waiting in the garden, treats jar at the bar, and nobody in the family gets left at home. Visit our Dog friendly pub page for more info.

Bring the dog too

The practical bits

Parking is easy: we have our own free car park with plenty of space, so no circling the lanes with a car full of hungry children.

Booking ahead is wise for Sunday lunch, our busiest service.

The Brewery Tap Sunday Lunch

Sunday is the perfect day to visit.

Start with the climbing frame while the kitchen sees to the roast potatoes, settle in for one of our roasts, and let the toy box take over while the adults finish a quiet glass of wine by the log burner.

There's no rush here. The garden is enclosed, the dog has a water bowl waiting, the car park is free and the kitchen serves until 4pm on Sundays, so the afternoon can take as long as it likes.
